KYC Verification
KYC stands for Know Your Customer. It is the process where GE-AS verifies your identity using a government-issued document and a clear photo of yourself. Verification is required to claim your ICTP $50, withdraw funds, and access full deposit limits.
This page covers what you need, how to submit, and what happens next.
Why KYC Is Required
GE-AS handles real money. KYC protects:
- You, from someone else opening an account in your name.
- The platform, from fraud and regulatory issues.
- Other traders, from bad actors using the system.
Verification is one-time. Once your documents are approved, you do not need to repeat the process.
What You Need
Have these ready before you start:
- A clear photo of yourself. A regular front-facing selfie. Good lighting, plain background, face fully visible. Max 4MB.
- A valid government-issued ID. One of the following:
- Driver's License
- State ID
- Passport
- Front and back photos of the ID. Both sides, in clear focus. Max 4MB each.
- Your personal details: first name, last name, date of birth, and phone number. The first and last name you enter must match your ID exactly.
How to Submit
- Open the side menu and go to Verify KYC (or click the KYC prompt on your dashboard).
- Fill in the Personal Information section:
- Upload your Clear Photo (selfie).
- Confirm First Name.
- Confirm Last Name.
- Date of Birth.
- Phone Number.
- In the Valid ID section, select your Document Type from the dropdown.
- Upload the Valid ID Front photo.
- Upload the Valid ID Back photo.
- Click Submit Information.
You will see a confirmation that your submission is under review.
Photo Quality Matters
Blurry photos, glare, cropped edges, and dark lighting are the most common reasons for rejection. Take photos on a flat surface in natural light, avoid flash glare, and make sure all four corners of the document are visible.
File Size Limit
Each uploaded file must be 4MB or smaller. If your phone takes large photos, compress them before uploading. Most phone galleries have a built-in option to send a smaller version.
What Happens Next
After you submit, your status moves through three stages:
| Stage | What It Means |
|---|---|
| Submitted | Documents received. Awaiting review. |
| Under Review | A member of the verification team is checking your documents. |
| Verified | Documents approved. ICTP $50 credited. Withdrawals unlocked. |
Review usually completes within 24 hours. You will receive an email when your status changes.
If the KYC Portal Is Under Maintenance
Occasionally the KYC portal is taken offline for scheduled maintenance. If you open the KYC page during a maintenance window, you will see a notice with the expected resume time. Come back after that time to submit.
If Your KYC Is Rejected
A rejection is not a ban. It means something on the submission did not pass review. You will see the reason in the email and on your KYC page.
Common rejection reasons:
- Document photo is blurry, dark, or cropped
- Clear Photo does not show your face clearly
- Name on document does not match the name you entered
- Date of birth does not match the document
- Document is expired or damaged
- File too large (over 4MB)
To retry: fix the issue, return to the KYC page, and resubmit. There is no limit on retries.
After Verification
Once verified, you will see:
- A verified badge on your profile
- $50 ICTP credited to your ICTP wallet (see ICTP)
- Withdrawal options enabled on the wallet pages
- Full deposit limits unlocked
Welcome to the platform.
